Also on the second
floor is the Apricot Room, one of The Lighthouse's
prettiest rooms and Jan's decorating touch is clearly
evident here, as well as throughout all our houses.
This large room has a bay window with light, airy
curtains. It was our daughter Karla's room until she
married. The massive four-poster queen bed has an eyelet
canopy. The apricot color theme originated with Jan's
grandmother's damask bedspread. An antique settee sits
at the foot of the bed and decorations include vintage
clothing, silk flowers, and family heirlooms. The color
theme is also seen in one of the many beautiful rugs
found in the house. The Apricot Room has been the choice
of a lot of our repeat guests.
This room has cable TV connections with VCR.
For those who need to get online or use e-mail, we also
have high-speed internet. And although this old house
maintains a lot of its antiquity, it is also up-to-date
with central air conditioning.
Extra beds are available for those
who need a room to accom-modate more. A rollaway bed can
be used in this room and there is also an overflow daybed
just outside this room in the Angel Hall. Add $26
per person for each one not using the queen bed.
The private bath for the Apricot Room is
just down the hall and is a shower bath.
