The Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast

Folks began sleeping in this room
some 90 years ago, but that was long before we
became a bed and breakfast. It
is just one of numerous rooms in the estate of the
Lyon family. For all those years until we had the
opportunity of purchasing this old home, it had
never left the ownership of the Lyon family. The
daughter, Mrs. Bess Rowe, lived in the house until
her death. And her daughter, Carolyn McDaniel, the
granddaughter of Mr. Lyon and a wonderful friend of
ours, encouraged us to make this and other rooms
available to guests, which she says she thinks would
please her mother very much. Some of the
family furniture is still in the home, such as this
bed in "Carolyn's Room". |
![]() In this photo, the bathroom door is closed and the room had been decorated for Christmas. There is an area where the Christmas tree is that CAN hold a rollaway bed when extra bed space is needed. There is also a dresser, sort of an extra make-up area if you will.
