When we added the third floor rooms, converting the attic space to two additional guestroooms, along with an area that houses the air-conditioning equipment for the top two levels, we thought that these would be "overflow" rooms.  But frequently these rooms are chosen first before the others.  It is very quiet up here, since there are not guests passing through going to their rooms like on the first and second floors, and this is the only area in The Lighthouse that has wall-to-wall carpet.

The East Room features an antique high back oak queen bed that came from a local family estate and makes this oak-decorated room delightful. The bed is also high off the floor and there is a little step stool on one side of the bed.  The room has "reverse" window seats, which look out eastward over the front lawn and the large pecan trees, on either side of the bed. An adjoining private bath with tub/shower completes this very private bedroom.

East Room

As you enter the East Room from the third floor hall, you can see the love seat next
to the knee wall. There is also a desk along this same wall. And beyond the desk is
one of the two "reverse window seats" that are found in each of the third story rooms. These became necessary when we added the stronger floor joists and at the same time made room for the air conditioning ducts to both this third floor and the ceilings of the second floor rooms.
East Room bed

The tall bed is flanked on either side by the original windows that made up the
exterior architecture of this old Queen Anne home, while behind the headboard is a view of the shelf that was created out of the cavity where the exterior fish scale  shingled gable protrudes. Inside the room there are step-downs at the
windows.

East Room bath

In this view you can see one of the antique pieces on the left, the dresser portion
of the Farmer Estate bedroom suit on the right, and the door that leads into
the adjacent tub/shower bathroom in the middle, that features an interesting
corner arrangement because of the framing for the valley between the gables on
the roof.
