The Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast
As you enter the East Room from the third floor hall, you can see the love seat next to the knee wall. There is also a desk along this same wall. And beyond the desk is one of the two "reverse window seats" that are found in each of the third story rooms. These became necessary when we added the stronger floor joists and at the same time made room for the air conditioning ducts to both this third floor and the ceilings of the second floor rooms. |
The tall bed is flanked on either side by the original windows that made up the exterior architecture of this old Queen Anne home, while behind the headboard is a view of the shelf that was created out of the cavity where the exterior fish scale shingled gable protrudes. Inside the room there are step-downs at the windows. |
In this view you can see one of the antique pieces on the left, the dresser portion of the Farmer Estate bedroom suit on the right, and the door that leads into the adjacent tub/shower bathroom in the middle, that features an interesting corner arrangement because of the framing for the valley between the gables on the roof. |
