The 173-acre Williamsburg historic area is filled with the true sights, sounds and activities of Colonial America. The Governor's Palace, the Capitol Building, the Courthouse, andmany authentic residences, shops, restaurants and taverns make this national treasure come alive.

Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown form an area known as "The Historic Triangle." Jamestown was the first permanent English-speaking settlement in the new world and served as the capital for nearly 100 years.

The Mariner's Museum presents a fascinating display of model ships and ocean artifacts. Other fine displays include the Fort Eustis Army Transportation Museum, the War Memorial Museum and the Newport News Shipyard (all located in Newport News, Virginia).

The Abby Aldrich-Rockefeller Folk Center, in the heart of Williamsburg, features the finest works of American folk artists.

Busch Gardens provides authentically detailed 17th-century hamlets representing England, France, Germany, Scotland and Italy. The park features over 30 amusement rides, including the Loch Ness Monster roller coaster and the Big Bad Wolf, a $6 million thrill ride in the Oktoberfest section.

The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia hosts monthly art exhibitions as well as the Annual Boardwalk Art Show, the largest annual show on the East Coast. Golf courses in the area include Williamsburg's Golden Horseshoe; Kingsmill River course and others.

We are fortunate to have several weeks available for rent in resort locations.  We usually have at least a dozen or more of these weeks each year.  Below is a presentation of one of those weeks.  The locations and dates can be changed according to your preferences--subject to availability at the resorts, of course.  Sometimes (as in the case below) the week is already booked.  At other times, prospective guests tell us what place they want to go, when, the size unit they need, etc. and then we book the week for them.  Shorter stays than a week are also available, down to as little as two nights; longer stays can also be reserved.

This was a six-day stay that we booked at Williamsburg, VA--at the Fairfield Kingsgate near the entrance to Colonial Williamsburg.  Discover the culture of the past amid the luxuries of modern resort living.  You can tour the many famous homes and buildings or shop and dine in the stores and restaurants offering traditional fare.   Skilled artisans and craftsmen join costumed entertainers to recreate the 18th century.  Other area attractions include Jamestown, Yorktown and Busch Gardens and Water Country USA.  Just an hour away is Richmond, the capital of Virginia, and Virginia Beach.

This rental was confirmed for the guests, complete with a guest pass.  The arrival date was July 7, 2003; departure date July 13, 2003.  The unit was a 2 Bedroom for six people, which usually means two bedrooms with two bathrooms and a Murphy bed or queen sleeper sofa.  These are really nice units with everything furnished--kitchen, dishes, washer/dryer--the works.   Fairfield is "top of the line.".  This was a 6-day stay.  We offered it first come, first serve.  We checked briefly on the internet and the cheapest motel room was $99.95 for two double beds--so it would take two rooms ($1200 plus tax, and still no comparison) .   The cheapest resort rental we saw ranged from $179.95 to $301.00 per night.
